Last time I saw one of these was in the early 70's when I was a radio repairman and later electronics maintenance chief in an Army Forward Support Maintenance Company.  I remember that the TM for the unit was for the "A" model which was from 1952, but the model we had was later than that.  Don't remember the model we had;  too long ago.  This unit worked after being beat over really bad roads, or no roads, in either a M151 1/4 T [jeep], 3/4 T truck [don't remember nomenclature], or M-35 2 1/2 T truck. Weighs about 80 or so pounds, IIRC.

It is a tank, and something really desirable for electrical robustness as well. Too bad it's too far from Texas.
Picked one up last summer in an estate cleanout.
