I have bypassed the clipper circuit on my valiant but am not getting distorted or over driven lows. Any thoughts?  Here is how I did the bypass:

Removed the 6AL5 (V13) tube but left tube socket.  Remove C83.  Use a .1 uF and run it from Pin 6 of V12b to Pin 6 of V14 used a small shielded coax cable here.  Also on Pin 6 of V14: Snip or desoldered L45 lead and C94 from Pin 6 of V14.
On the first test the low was distorted so I changed the .1 uF out for a .05 uF it did not seem to help much.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Odd, I did that bypass more or less the same way. I forget the exact component values I used but they sound "close enough".

Of course, my audio is nothing to brag about Shocked
