I am a longstanding member, dating back to 1923, of the "Order Of The Boiled Owls", look that up and send me a sked.

Ok, I looked up boiled owls, thinking I'd find some ole buzzardly connotation, and I found this in the "Urban dictionary" -

Boiled Owl - Adj; Slang term referring to women aged 65+. Generally used after
the "Silver Back" stage. So called due to the prominence of
wrinkles resembling an owl which has been boiled. Still doable.
So, the timeline is:
Cougar (40-50), Silver Back (50-65), Boiled Owl (65+)
I'd do her even though she's a boiled owl.

The Order of Boiled Owls of New York is a medium-sized contest club based in and around New York City. Established in 1954, we have members from Long Island, New York City and Westchester. Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at the home of one of our members. Meetings rotate among the membership on an annual schedule. While our primary interest is Amateur Radio contesting, most of our members are active DXers as well. We operate all modes (CW, SSB and RTTY) and all HF bands (160 meters to 10 meters).

 What with the weekend upon us and the storms movin out finally we should have it nice. I plan to be on 7290 and 7296 midnightish..

It's 10:26 pm Central and a broadcast station is on 7.290 but it's growing weaker.... I'll be monitoring 7.290 and give CQ calls on occasion starting around midnight central, assuming a clear frequency.  I had a great time on 20 meter AM memorial day evening.  Let's see if we can stir up some AM on 40 meters!

I'll default to 7.290 but if anyone has suggestions, please throw them out!

Sorry Lane, I'm at work this week.  I'll be able to play early mornings this weekend since I'll be off.... when I'm working and it's REALLY slow, I use remote access software into my home computer/ricebox and work some digital modes.  OLIVIA and CONTESTIA are my favorites when I can't control the amp.  When I'm home I like Hell mode because it excels with QRO.... none as fun as AM but I'm a geek.

7.264 seems a fair spot between broadcasters.Called CQ @ 0415utc but was called early to work.,Seems like more SW broadcast activity this morning and a few ssb'ers working overseas DX than in recent past.Hopefully conditions are swinging favorably now...

7220 gave me QSO's with WA2ONK in NJ and after that with k0dt in Iowa. QRN coming up, maybe will calm down in awhile.'220 seems a good spot for now..

Night Owls... Sitting here on 7.135 AM calling CQ

I listened to-night; static crashes way down, so I called CQ at 7160 starting just a little after 0400 GMT. K3PD came back on CW, so I switched to CW and we had about a 20 minute CW QSO on frequency. Afterwards, I called CQ again and this time K5MS in Louisiana came back on AM, using a ricebox.  Pretty good audio; we chatted for a few minutes and he mentioned that he had a 75A4 but hadn't used it in a  long time. Then K2PBS in Silver Springs, MD called, also using a ricebox on AM and we talked quite a while.  He said he has been a ham since 1954, and used to run plate modulated AM years ago, and we talked for a while about antennas.

No AM regulars heard, but this would have been a good night. Very little slopbucket QRM and signals were strong, and no Ethiopian jamming activity was heard.

No reason to be shy about firing up on AM below 7200. I'll listen the next few nights and fire up the transmitter if QRN is not horrendous.

Yep I was calling CQ for a while on 7.290 to no avail.. then switched to 7.135 and had a bunch of sideband stations reply... I gave in and fired up the Kenwood...
