Hello All!

     I would like to permantly mount a meter between my chassis on the TX, and the 8 foot ground rod directly behind the TX.

     What could I see there?

Meter? Voltage? Current?

UL uses a current meter to measure leakage current in a similar manner. In some classes of equipment 20ma is a failure.

Depending on the ground path length between the 2 a few volts AC wouldn't be surprising, assuming the TX chassis is grounded somewhere else.

Wouldn't a direct , low impedance connection from the TX to ground rod prove more beneficial ?  Huh

Hello All!

     I would still have a GOOD ground connection between the TX and the ground rod. Will I see any voltages?

     Will I see a good SNAP when I hook the TX chassis to the ground rod?

There's only one way to find out!!

I'd plug in the TX, turn it on and measure the voltage first. Ifn a cap failed in the TX there could be a goodly amount of voltage there.

In either event, if you're adventurous, unplug the TX, connect it to ground and plug it back in!!!
