Well, Im about to finish another VV, I never like to much the "look" of the Valiant II, so I decided to try a new color... Why not a black wrinkle panel? (sorry for the collectors in this forum )
What do you like more? original (brown) knobs, or more buzzard black ones?
Have a nice weekend!

Pedro, You aren't the first to paint a Valiant black. I did mine years ago. But mine is a little different, it is gloss black with 5 or 6 coats of automotive urethane clearcoat.

Buddly the "Big Black Johnson" is my Invader 2000, it has the same clearcoat black paint job.

Thanks, shure as soon as I finish the lettering of the panel I going to put some satin clear coat on it Pedro, That black krinkle paint takes forever to reach full hardness. Let it set out in the sun for a few days and dry real good before you even consider clear coating it. The paint should be hard enough that you cannot sink a fingernail into it.

Jack, Dee Almquist (W4PNT) used to do them. but the last time that I talked to hin, he said that he had had enough paint and was retiring from painting. His work was most excelent! !

The black looks good, but I think it wants to have the aluminum bezel around the main set of knobs... that would really set it off nicely... the contrast.

Absolutely beautiful, Pedro! The lettering font fits the era - looks like the labeling on the 1962 Dodge:
