Man, that black and bright looks excellent slab. Wow.

Jared, Pedro,
I dont know what the deal was with the wrinkle finish paint that E.F.Johnson used on Valiant 2s and a few other models, but it just fell right off of the cabinets. It was probably something to do with an incompatability with the cadmium plating underneath. all of the table top Junkston stuff had paint issues, but the wrinkled stuff was the worst!!
IIRC,  I stripped the front od my Valiant 2 with my thumbnail and maybe a popsickle stick.
It literally just fell off when you touched it.

the Clearcoat black is a trick from motorcycle painting. the clearcoat over top of the allready glossy black just adds depth to the shine, but it does look cool. I painted my souped up Invader 2000 the same color scheme. The Urethane clearcoat also makes it just about indestructable. I thought about it afterwards, I should have airbrushed some ghost flames onto it as well. Hindsight is always 20-20........................
