I saw the above transmitter come to life. As Steve said it came right up.
The only problem was an undersized fuse in the driver power supply.
Since we were at Hostraders a bigger fuse appeared in a couple minutes.
The only problem was the wood front panel. Your hands near it while transmitting changed the tuning a bit. No smoke was released.

That's right, I forgot about the 1/4 amp fuse in the power supply :-).  That was pretty funny !

I think Karl has a "real" enclosure on the way for this RF deck  Smiley

I'd love to build a rig like that.. With 10 or 20 Fets.. Then another 10 or 20 Fets in the modulator! Only problem is the availability of parts, cost and size. I'd even love to build a tube rig, nothing against solid state but I still enjoy the warm glow and the nostalgia of vacuum tubes. Again the problem there is availability, cost, and size. The size in either case is negotiable but cost is something out of my control until I get myself back on my feet anyway. If I'm lucky that is, my life has been known to take a dramatic turn for the worst without warning, and without any fault of my own.

Randy, don't buy any teflen wire - I'll donate a roll to the cause when I finally get over to see you  Grin
