Wow, is that six, 4el 20M Yagis?

I see the call as K9LTN in the photos. I wonder how it worked out for him in 2005?

One potential problem I see is that the horizontal cross boom is close enought to affect the two center Yagi elements. I've had that happen with 6M beams on H frames during modeling and resorted to fiberglass cross booms when using center Yagis like that - three stacked per side.

In additon, the steel guy wires running up and down the vertical supports can have a distortion effect on the pattern. [Unless he used Philly, but looks like steel]

But, what a system.  That is good for 8 db over a single 4el Yagi. Plus, with a shot across that big frozen lake...  He must be a channel master.

I have built, sitting on the ground, a similar system for 6M, but using EIGHT, 4el Yagis. It's big enuff - I can't imagine scaling it up for 20M, over three times the size...

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

WOW... SteppIR Yagis.  Now that's worthwhile since he can cover 20-10M and the WARC bands.  Quite the expensive system.

So, it's been at least six months since it's been up.  I'd be curious of any info on performance, mechanical problems, etc.  I'll do a Google and DX Spot search to see.

I notice that someone with big BA's cud actually climb out and replace each Yagi if needed...  Shocked

I read that it will rotate in elevation too. Moonbounce...   Since it covers 6M too, I guess he wanted that feature.  And to experiment on 20-10M with elevation too.

220' high.  Gotta give the guy credit for his hot passion for the hobby.

Damn, now that's an antenna farm Shocked

Wonder what the wind load is at let's say 40 MPH?

What is the length of that horizontal piece?

I don't think I have near the property to put up a 'display' like that.

I read somewhere there is a Freudian inverse link between antenna and penis size.

"My dogs' bigger than yerrrr dog"

Seems like an awful pain in the a$$ should one of those little element motors fail.

I wonder what the wind load will be after a few years worth of bird shit stuck to everything. Shocked
