......It would be a loss for everyone if it went away.
K1JJ and I were talking about this a couple of weeks ago. It would be very disappointing if all the information people contributed to this site were lost. The construction project posts, schematics, tips and tricks, mentoring, all the technical discussion, you name it that has occurred here and is all archived, one can't put a price tag on that info.
It is archived and backed up.
19.1 GB (20,528,107,520 bytes) is the archive size.
But, when the copyright page for AMFone hasn't been updated since 2019, it's telling.
When nobody has updated SMF..... When "Simple Machines has released a new patch to the 2.1.x line of SMF, bringing our latest release version to 2.1.6."
So, there is new forum software available that brings it into this decade, that gets rid of the need for .swf files.
I'd be happy to entertain working on getting the site back up 100 percent, but there would have to be changes. Almost everyone with technical contributions has been run off. Where is Don and the rest.
They aren't posting here, but QRZ they have no issue with.
This site is circling the drain. Something needs to happen soon. The fact that nobody is being forthright led to archiving of the site.
The fact of the matter is, nobody can do anything until a real administrator (owner) steps forward and says I don't want to deal with this anymore or otherwise gives something.
Otherwise... This is what we get.
But, the meat and potatoes is saved.
