It has become one of life's mysteries. It seems to come alive after 9:30 PM EDT. However, it's alive time, even at night, tends to vary.

I normally don't log on at night. This is the first time I've seen the site up during the day in about a month

I got a different error message about an hour ago and not the Error 500 that was appearing before.

I suspect that there are other things going on, as well: I've noticed that "no new posts" is often displayed for a forum, yet upon opening it, there are indeed new posts.
A minor problem, though, compared to not being able to access it at all.

My observation is that for the last 2+ months the website is not available until around 11 PM US Eastern time.  Most of the activity on the forums seems to be from US amateurs and given the aging population that means most board members are in bed at that time or close to it.  All of this serves to discourage board use and that is evidenced by only a couple of users being online when the web site is actually up, as well as the lack of general activity over the last couple of months.

The web page mentions that it is "Powered by SMF 1.1" which appears to be a 20-year-old piece of software that is no longer supported i.e. no bug fixes, no security fixes and it "Requires the latest version of Adobe Flash Player"  Roll Eyes. There is also a reference to the mkportal.it website which is currently promoting Italian dental implants.

All of this is bad news and would tend to convince the casual observer that this website is, for all intents and purposes ... dead.

It's 2:16 AM, Oct 30,2025, and I'm still up. But, then again, I can sleep as long as I want  Grin

Making AM GREAT Again!

Sam really hits the nail on the head with his comments.

Coupled with utter zero coherent response from anyone with an admin title and one really gets the impression that this was fun for awhile and now its not.  So its not being supported much.

Typically having hours shaved down and / or bandwidth throttling is indicative of hosting bills needing attention.

Here's to hoping AMFone continues on.
