A number of years back, I was at the Sussex Hamfest, and a 3cx3000f1 jumped out at me and said 'Take me home'.
I had an idea of building an induction heater, to braze carbide bits for saw blades. I disassembled and sold the circle mill, no need to keep this tube around.
Is there any use for a low gain, high plate dissipation triode in amateur service?
 Thanks, Ed, AB3HT, Ex wb3eii

Hi Ed,

If you really need to get rid of it send it to me and I'll "dispose" of it for ya! Smiley

No, seriously, build the amp of your dreams. In amateur service it'll last prit near forever.

Thought about making another big amp, But already got one in the plan.
I have a Henry 3000d  that I'm modding with a tank coil from a GPT 10k. Uses the 3cx3000a7.
The 3cx3000F1 is a low Mu tube. Maybe grid drive it?

That tube isn't really useful as a ham tube.

Makes a dandy heater.

Econco will rebuild it with a proper grid.  That's not cheap, but half the price of a new 3000.
