Title: WHAT TO DO WITH 3CX3000F1 Post by: wb3eii on April 28, 2024, 12:06:14 PM A number of years back, I was at the Sussex Hamfest, and a 3cx3000f1 jumped out at me and said 'Take me home'.
I had an idea of building an induction heater, to braze carbide bits for saw blades. I disassembled and sold the circle mill, no need to keep this tube around. Is there any use for a low gain, high plate dissipation triode in amateur service? If you really need to get rid of it send it to me and I'll "dispose" of it for ya! :) No, seriously, build the amp of your dreams. In amateur service it'll last prit near forever. I have a Henry 3000d that I'm modding with a tank coil from a GPT 10k. Uses the 3cx3000a7. The 3cx3000F1 is a low Mu tube. Maybe grid drive it? --... ...-- Title: Re: WHAT TO DO WITH 3CX3000F1 Post by: KD6VXI on May 01, 2024, 06:07:17 AM That tube isn't really useful as a ham tube. Makes a dandy heater. Econco will rebuild it with a proper grid. That's not cheap, but half the price of a new 3000. --Shane WP2ASS / ex KD6VXI |
