Wayne has produced another masterpiece - a 400 watt (carrier output), 8 MOSFET class E transmitter.

The rig covers 80 and 160 meters, and uses a pulse width modulator.

The setup is completely self-contained - power supply, modulator and RF amplifier in a relatively compact package.  1 watt of RF drive is provided (in the case of running the transmitter at my shack) by my Flex 5000.  Any RF source may be used (as long as it is 1 watt) including a stand alone VFO.

That looks to be well built Steve! I like some of the engineering practices with regards to building his coils on some sort of insulated board. However, it lacks the 'soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window!' Wink

That is a thing of beauty—Wayne is a superb craftsman. My hands and wrists ache just looking at all those crimped terminal-lugs! (thinking back on my previous post (http://amfone.net/Amforum/index.php?topic=48371.0).

For some reason Wayne's transmitter images do not appear on Steve's post.  I need to do a reply quote to make them appear.  Also, the emoji are spelled out rather than being icons.  Does this mean my Win 10 Goober Chrome browser, Adobe Flash Player, Java or something else is out of date?  My computer system knowledge is the bare minimum to get by...

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Still seeing them here—Windows 11/Firefox—but my Fire-HD tablet isn't showing them. I think its operating system is Android based, or at least Android inspired.

Wizzardly...

Using my phone, no pics, and then I reloaded the webpage and shazAM, the pics appears.

Strange brew.

Maybe it's time for a fund drive to upgrade this site. Hanukka, Festivis, Toji and Christmas are coming up, what better time to remember da Fhone?

I see them on my W7 and W10 boxes on Chrome and on my iOS devices on Safari.  I have noted though that the whole AMFone site graphics are broken on Chrome since the last couple Chrome updates.  Since they no longer update Chrome on W7, I just look at it there.  But you’re right, it’s past time to upgrade this forum.

I am not seeing any images at all and all I see are rectangles scattered all over the place, which I assume are Icons.

Using Google Chrome.

Yes, the jpegs do execute and appear.

It's the blank icons that concern me.

Over the last several years, browsers and servers have had to tighten up their security and  other internal protocols. Older web sites can have problems with these changes. Chrome seems to be unusually annoying when used on older web sites. Things don't always work correctly.

I use Brave and Seamonkey for browsers. Security wise both are up-to-date and don't have problems with AMFone, never have.  Why the hiccup I had is unknown other than maybe an intermittent ISP issue between mine and Steve's server.

If your browser opens the site in HTTPS, it might not display the icons and pictures because they are all HTTP links.  Mixed protocols are generally not allowed in modern browsers.

When you see the pictures and icons missing, you will likely find the browser showing "Secure" or a closed padlock on the left of the address bar.

Gee! I wonder if they both own "stove pipe" hats.

It also might be useful to identify "who is who" in pictures for members/readers who aren't from the area, don't attend the same hamfests, etc.

Apologies. Left is Steve WA1QIX the Class E design maestro, right is Wayne WA1SSJ the Class E build maestro!
