I am wiring up the meter panel on my 813 build and got to wondering about what capacitor value to use for RF bypassing. I don't remember why I wrote .01µF on my plan.   I see commercial and homebrew examples with values anywhere from 0.1µF to .001µF.

In addition, some rigs use a combination of series chokes and shunt caps, and some add a pair of cross-connected diodes across the meter studs.

Any thoughts?

Regular DC mA & V meters should be bypassed with a .01 mica across the studs, leads as close as possible.

AC meters usually have micas from both studs to ground, at times shielded as well.

Also put diodes back to back across the meters to protect them. Depending on the voltage, you may need two in series.
