To any one out there who is familiar with the BC 312 / 342.  I need to remove one of the RF coil cans to gain access a shorted B+ bypass condenser which is inside. (darn those Micamold war time condensers).

To remove the can, I need to pull out the band switch shaft. I've removed the set screw where the shaft runs through the gear, but the shaft will not slip through. I must be over looking something. Any one remember how to do this?

I use my BC 312 as a frequency meter to make sure that I'm within 25 kc. of my target frequency.
