Hello!

I am cleaning and adjusting a nice IP-2717A.

When I measure the NO LOAD filament voltage on the filament voltage banana connectors, I found it a bit high.

I was able to bring it down by suing a variac.  When I got 6.3 VAC, the variac was at 102.5 VAC.

Ideas?

You didn't say what the AC input voltage was when you measured it as "a bit high" but I would expect under no load conditions for it to be higher. At roughly 120 AC volts, I would expect the no load filament voltage to be around 7.4 volts.

Pete:

That is what I was thinking.

I am going to put a 5 or 10 ohm resistor across the terminals and try again.

Will also check filament voltage of the two 6L6, and the 6AU6.  BTW, I only had a pair of metal 6L6, not 6L6GC. So far, they are working.

This thing is just like new.  All of the Zeners give proper voltage drop.  I looked at the transformers.......they are wired for 120, not 240.

I may recap it, but it has some fairly fresh looking Nichicons.

Thanks for the input!
