Title: Heath Zenith IP-2717A PSU Post by: WA4WAX on August 03, 2017, 12:26:36 PM Hello!
I am cleaning and adjusting a nice IP-2717A. When I measure the NO LOAD filament voltage on the filament voltage banana connectors, I found it a bit high. I was able to bring it down by suing a variac. When I got 6.3 VAC, the variac was at 102.5 VAC. Ideas? At roughly 120 AC volts, I would expect the no load filament voltage to be around 7.4 volts.

That is what I was thinking. I am going to put a 5 or 10 ohm resistor across the terminals and try again. Will also check filament voltage of the two 6L6, and the 6AU6. BTW, I only had a pair of metal 6L6, not 6L6GC. So far, they are working. This thing is just like new. All of the Zeners give proper voltage drop. I looked at the transformers.......they are wired for 120, not 240. I may recap it, but it has some fairly fresh looking Nichicons. Thanks for the input! |
