While visiting my parents in Florida this weekend I stopped by one of my favorite surplus stores, Astro Too in Palm Bay on the Atlantic Coast just South of Melbourne. This store is loaded with all sorts of electronic surplus in a very disorganized manner, just the way I like it. The previous owner used to just tell me to load up a box and he would give me a very reasonable price for the entire contents of the box. Unfortunately ownership changed hands recently and the new owner is a little more savvy about market prices but still seems to be reasonable. Some of the surplus is in the store which is right on US1 but much of it is in trailers and under tents out back, customers are encouraged to wander out back to check out the inventory. When I went out back this time I immediately saw a stack of three ART-13s, next to the ART-13s were Two TCS receivers, and one TCS transmitter as well as some National RBL receivers and quite possibly other goodies that I could not get to without moving the boat anchors around. The ART-13s look to be in good shape, two of them were the non-auto tune variety and the owner said he would take $100 each for those and a little more for the auto-tune version. Since these are basically being stored outside it would be nice to see them go to new owners that would store them in better conditions. All of the units look complete and in reasonably good condition considering their age. This is the store's web site... http://www.astrotoo.com/Contact_Information.html

Happy Hunting.

CW is just a narrower version of AM

in 1958, ART-13's were being sold for 39 dollars each. With inflation, 39 dollars in 1958 translates to around 320 bucks of buying power in 2014.

So 100 bucks each is cheaper than dirt for such a radio.
