My Viking 11 seems to be a little different than most. There is no clamper tube or any of the associated circuit and no holes punched for the socket or the VR. I also noticed that there was a negative feedback circuit in it the same as a Viking 1. I was wondering if anyone else has ran across this? Also how can i tell if this one was factory assembled?

Usually, if the tube sockets are riveted, its a factory unit. Less production time.

Hambone wiring (solder blobs, loads of pine tar and burnt insulation) indicates home made work. I'd show you from my work, but I can't find my camera.

I have a Viking II set up like that also. Methinks it's an early version as it is a bit like the Viking I .
Also have a Viking I with an 829B in the final. It needs a clamp tube. Not enough grid drive and the 829 goes poof!

I kinda figured that it was from a transition period. If it was a kit there must be a different assembly manual for it than the usual one. Unless it was factory assembled.

Mine has a decal on the chassis that indicates it was factory built.

Also, I've heard that all of the CDC models, which mine is, were factory built.

They had to be to comply with the FCDA regulations at the time.

Now I got to ask where is the decal at on the radio? Also is there screws or rivets on the tube sockets.
