Hi Al,

Just wanted you to know you were Q5+++ in ND last night. Was listening to you and Don on 3880 around 1245AM or so. I don't know if you heard him call, but WA3QGD in Washington state also heard you call CQ and answered you, but you came back to K4KYV. Anyway, just wanted you to know you had a good signal. First time I had heard you on the air.

Thanks alot, Ron

That's one of the nice things about sleep deprivation.  Occasionally, I meet some great people on the air.  Don is always a pleasure to talk to.  I did work Bill afterwards.  We had a nice QSO and now have the basis for QSL card exchange.

Last night was a real good night for AM on 75, I was listening to the Elmac net on 3880 and hearing stations over 600 miles west of here with a little battery powered shortwave receiver and a 40 foot piece of wire laying right on the ground. This is stuff I normally don't hear with my full size dipole at about 15-20 feet hooked to my FT-901DM.
