« on: September 21, 2012, 10:57:27 AM »

Hello AM Lovers,
Mostly I listen early mornings just before I go to my work.
This morning I heard AM from the USA on 3875 khz.
Signals fair and to weak to copy names or calls.
On 3550 khz some AM stations from France, with good signals.

On mw I heard the last weeks often 2 mw bc stations.
- 1510 khz Gospel & Talk, with fair to good signal.
- 1660 khz Music & Talk, with fair signal.
I shall try to get the stationsnames in the future... Smiley

Henk, the station on 1510 might be WWBC in Florida. 50 KW daytime, 25 KW night time. Two tower directional beaming east over the Atlantic ocean, a signal null to the west. Post if you can ever get an ID.

the 1660 station has to be WWRU in Jersey City, NJ. Only one on that frequency running a fair amount of power at night on the east coast (10 KW, which is the limit in the expanded band).

Hallo AM Lovers,

During some days I heard totaly nothing on 80 mtrs and mw from the USA.
But this morning on 3880 khz some AM stations!
Most very weak, but one station I could hear with a weak to fair signal.
Sorry I heard no name or call (call mostly to fast for me....!).
Around 06.30 hour by me I heard a man talking about:
He has been evenso on 40 mtrs and talking about a mobile station?

Sorry I could not copy more this morning.
Oh by the way, 3705 isn't clean, you know why?
Often strong splattering from Germans on 3703.
Please if you can qsy to 3707 or 3710 khz, thanks! Smiley

Evenso this morning 'to hear' 1510 & 1660 khz with weak to fair signals.

Yes!
Several times I receive the BC on 1510 khz early mornings.
Mostly when I can hear this BC station, conditions on 80 mtrs are good. Smiley

But.... last weeks, bad conditions on mw and 80 mtrs.
For example, this morning nothing on 1510 and AM on 80 mtrs. from the USA.

The 1520 station was probably WWKB Buffalo, NY.

The 1520 station was probably WWKB Buffalo, NY.

Thats far away!
But weak signal and (ofcourse) slow fading.
When I listen in 'narrow' position I could hear most.
I heard talk, commercials and 'soft' music.

The BC station on 1510 khz were much stronger...

Hello,
This morning I saw news on CCN.
We can watch/receive CCN News by cable tv.
I understand the bad situation in the USA!

Super storm Sandy is heavy!
On CNN I saw a reporter standing in West Site New York.
Bad and sad there, storm: max. 94 mph and some parts snow!
Time on CNN (wile I saw): 1.40 AM.
Standing on the back of a reporter in Rehoboth Beach, Delaiwon

While I saw these bad, bad situation I listen to a BC station on 1130 khz.
Evenso talking about Sandy.

I hope AM Lovers all is oke with you.....

Take care,

The 1130 station was most likely WBBR in New York City.

Thanks Steve.
This morning again 1130 khz (WBBR) good to copy.

And.... on 930 khz another USA BC station.
I heard talk and (old pop) music with a weak to fair signal.

Again between 3870 - 3885 total nothing...
I believe many AM stations have other things to do...

Hello AM Lovers!

First, I hope all is oke with you......

This morning around 03.30 hour (by me!).
I heard some AM stations on 3875 khz.
Signals were weak to fair, but I could not copy 'calls or names'.

Around 09.00 hour (by me!) this morning, I thought....
'Do I hear this good or am I still sleeping....'.

On 1520 khz I heard an USA BC station, perhaps: WWKB AM 1520 Buffalo New York USA

With a slow fading, but most to hear!!
I think the conditions on mw were very good this morning. Smiley

Hello Steve.
Often I heard a BC on 1510 khz, but in look likes 'A Gospel station'.
Many times I hear the word 'Lord', but evenso news and a lot talk!

This morning again good mw conditions!
Till after 9.00 hour (by me!) I could hear an US BC on 1130 khz. Smiley
Totaly no problem to copy...
And earlier this morning an USA BC on 590 khz with fair to good signal.
I heard 'soft' popmusic and 'country' music.

Oh by the way, between 3870 - 3885 nothing this morning. Sad
That part of the band were complete free...

Hello AM Lovers,
After a very long time, this morning a big AM signale on 3885 khz!
Between +/- 06.20 - 06.50 I listen to AM from the usa.
I heard Steve W1QIX with a good signale S5 to S8 by me.
He were talking to 2 other AM stations.
Some words from Steve: 'Where are you located'.
And he talks about his receiver and AM audio, so for me no problem to copy Steve!
Sorry I could not copy the other 2 stations....
Only from Mike?, N3?, Carolina?, 400 Watt? I heard a few words.

Great to hear, after a long time!, AM early mornings from the USA.

Evenso good conditions on mediumwave.
The BC on 1510 (Gospel) & 1130 (News) were good to receive!

And you know, every morning (before I go to my work) I listen.... Smiley
