Hello AM Lovers,

This morning I listen a long time to 3710 khz.
Time: between +/- 06.20 - 06.55 hour by me.
(04.20 - 04.44 Londen GMT time)
I heard AM stations from the USA on above freq.
A pity often ssb blowing them away.
I tried to listen in AM narrow, but difficult to understand who.
Perhaps 3 or more stations were this morning (by me!) on air.
My ears open and with my pen I were ready to note names/calls.
One station were around S3 by me, I note this on my noteblock: W1BTC

But I am not sure if this is correct.
Very difficult to copy USA calls for us Europeans!
Most AM-ers speaking their calls to fast for us....
And I heard more stations on 3710 khz this morning!
Sorry I could not get their names or calls...
The other stations were around S1 or 2 by me.
Is there now an AM round on 3710 khz?
On 3705 often splattering from SSB (3703), so 3710 is much better for us!

Greetings,

Henk, PE1MPH

I didn't work anyone from Europe this past winter.  I heard Jean F6AQK a few times, but the signals were not as good as the previous year, and we had more QRN, plus I just didn't hear as many stations on.

The two stations you heard this AM were Al, W1VTP and I, W3GL...

We were on 3710 for better than a half an hour discussing photography...

Henk,
I dont know if you have one but when i get in trouble with SSB covering am signals. i turn on my regen one tuber (12sl7.) Because of the different setting for CW/ SSB vrs AM I can completley get under the SSB and hear fine even though the modern digital rx or superhet cant copy. I used it on the weekend with the moring QSO with our Ontario Morning group. Perfect copy in an otherwise impossible situation. Could not even tell the SSB was there once i had it set right. This particular set I built can hear better then any other rx I own, including my TS830S)
For those who havent tried it but think it might not work, try it first.before making a judgement.  You will be surprised.

Don thanks for your info
In our livingroom I receive with the Kenwood R 5000.
Connect with my end-feeded-longwire, +/- 45 mtrs long.
This is hanging from the roof to 2 trees, around 15 mtrs high.

A pity often ssb stations blowing all AM away!
We got often big troubles to receive AM on 3705.
Germans splattering sometimes over 3707 khz!
Therefore I prefer 3710 khz....

When I can not receive clearly the AM station, I listen in:
- AM narrow
- ssb (usb or lsb) mode
- in cw

When I can not receive it on one of above ways...
Then I wait.... and hope the ssb leaves the freq. Don!
Or I listen to another freq. to find AM stations...

Greetings,

Henk, pe1mph
