Henk,
I dont know if you have one but when i get in trouble with SSB covering am signals. i turn on my regen one tuber (12sl7.) Because of the different setting for CW/ SSB vrs AM I can completley get under the SSB and hear fine even though the modern digital rx or superhet cant copy. I used it on the weekend with the moring QSO with our Ontario Morning group. Perfect copy in an otherwise impossible situation. Could not even tell the SSB was there once i had it set right. This particular set I built can hear better then any other rx I own, including my TS830S)
For those who havent tried it but think it might not work, try it first.before making a judgement. You will be surprised.

Don thanks for your infoIn our livingroom I receive with the Kenwood R 5000.
Connect with my end-feeded-longwire, +/- 45 mtrs long.
This is hanging from the roof to 2 trees, around 15 mtrs high.
A pity often ssb stations blowing all AM away!
We got often big troubles to receive AM on 3705.
Germans splattering sometimes over 3707 khz!
Therefore I prefer 3710 khz....
When I can not receive clearly the AM station, I listen in:
- AM narrow
- ssb (usb or lsb) mode
- in cw
When I can not receive it on one of above ways...
Then I wait.... and hope the ssb leaves the freq. Don!
Or I listen to another freq. to find AM stations...
Greetings,
Henk, pe1mph
