It's either B&O BG1800 or RX. The RX was the cheaper version of the BG1800. They were excellent TB. You could tip the TB on its side while playing an LP and the tonearm would continue to track.

Jack, Even their linear trackers were something. You could do the same thing. Tip them nearly vertical and the tonearm would track without missing a beat. B&O had some of the best suspensions going in TTBs.
Also, B&O had 5 different cartridges that would mount into that TTB or other TTBs with that mount. The models ranged from MMC1 to MMC5. The MMC1 was their flag ship cartridge. The MMC1 through MMC3 used a nude diamond tip where the MMC4 and MMC5 used a bonded tip. The MMC4 and 5 would wear out and the bonded tip would just break off the shank. If you're interested in a B&O TTB get one with an MMC3 if you can find one. B&O as far as I know still services their cartridges so if you find one you can get it repaired or re-tipped.

Yea man let's just walk all over Jacks thread like a bunch a Mut heads.....like it's apiece of crap.. I have a real interest in LP turntables if you don't like it that's just to god damn bad isn't it ya know I'd appreciate a little respect like the Special people get on here..we all know who the Special guys are sure but see a lot of folks will read this an see just how the Poloticks are on here on This Board forthem...an It's usually an eye opener because this thread wasn't insulting anyone not at all till it was slighted by an Opey. Pete you started this crap..Like always .. you've become proficient at it. second nature.. and then it'll be What who Me... I was trying to behave and get along But No...Nup...so if any one needs me not including the Opey Crew my E-Mail is good. Have a Nice Day. This message will last only until one of the Opey crew sees it an deletes it we can't let the masses see how the asses really are. AM ya Right..

Jack a thicker skin is needed................ I realize that B&O audio equipment was high-end, but I never liked the futuristic design of their components. And the Technics design TT were nothing but feedback generators. You could not play a record in the same room as the speakers, unless you wanted to see wasted amplifier power and the woofers just fluttering away. Usually not corresponding to the actual bass notes. I'm talking about listening above 20 watts of audio. That nasty RIAA EQ curve. You turn on the RUMBLE filter and there goes all of your bass response. Cuts off bass below 50hz. I spent (1978) $500.00 for a nice Japanese Yamaha TT that I still use, the YPD-8 http://www.vinylengine.com/library/yamaha/yp-d8.shtmlWell worth the effort. Fred

Perhaps I'm seeing this with a different perspective, but I don't understand why you are sensing hostility. You asked a question about something and someone replied with a suggestion on how to find out more information and you seem to be offended for some reason not understood by me. With further postings you seem to think the thread has "gone to heck". I just don't see it the way you do. Eric

Eric Hi, No it's like this I asked a person to leave it alone ..ok and if you read from the beginning that persons postings following me it's not hard to understand there's no hostility here I told him to get off my ass do you have anything to offer as far as turntables are concerned or not...simple. 73 Jack KA3ZLR

For the turntable part of the discussion. I have a Denon crystal time based turntable with an Ortofon cartridge. I was a garage sale find, but it is the best one I have for converting vinyl to CD. Technics and Garrard that I have used for this in the past have a noticable rumble when you turn up the gain, but the Denon combination has none of that.
