Sounds about normal for TRW Billy. Back in the '80 the computer junk wasn't as common but did land some nice power supplies from mainframes.
Then there were the gold maggots who collected anything gold plated to strip it for metal. I lived in Lawndale so a quick ride to the flea. Quite the cross section of society to goof on. Almost as funny as Venice beach.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.
