Listening on 3.885...  Shocked  Lot of Testing going on.. at 6 PM EST.. Band seems long...   Guess my DX 100 is a little on the light side to enter,  But we will QSO with any of the BIG GUNS..  Grin   Steve W1TAV  Southeast Massachusetts

Getting ready to fire up the station. Same here, I'm not going to be able to qualify, but I'll QSO to help out the rest that can and have a little fun in the process. I may try to find a a clear spot in between 3.8 & 4.0 and park to call CQ.

Had the little [for this rally] Viking II with 122 VFO ready to go.  And, got called in to work.  OT is nice, but hope I get home in time to hear some of the signals and maybe give some of the heavy iron stations a contact.

Lots of fun. Logged about 70 stations tonight on 75M. Quite a gang of guys coming and going like a party.  At times 3870, 3875, 3880, 3885 and 3890 were filled with AM stations.  QRM was minimal. Condix were about a 7.

A bunch of us worked K06NM and WJ6W in Los Angelos about 15 minutes ago as well as W6THW in Sacramento. Always a thrill to work west coast on AM.  It's so much harder to work Calif than Europe due to the first bounce over rock/ground vs: water.

The regular suspects across the country were out in full force. I'd say it was a very successful Heavy Metal Night.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Didn't get started until 5:45 cst so I missed many local stations. But still made 15 contacts in 12 states on 80 and 160.

Most consistent signal all night.... K1JJ
Loudest ..... KDØHG
Best Audio.... WA1QIX

There was some one-to-one AM activity around 3725, nice QSO with Barry, N9OB, in western WI, no QRM, no heterodynes.

Yea... It was hard to QSY from 160 because of the great conditions.

i'm adding current meters to my antenna tuner so i was stuck on 75m but man sure was alot of fun. it would get crazy for a while then calm down then go back to 10 pluss people in the groups. like k1jj said it was like an A.M. bar hopping night around the bands.

I took a listen and heard one strong carrier on 3885 about midnite EST, but my noise level here in Athens was 20 over 9 and couldn't pull out the modulation.  A group of Ivans was holding court on 3725 so I didn't even try listening there.

God I wish I could figure out what's causing that godawful noise.
