I have a pair with the FLDX-2000 amp. On mine I replaced the filter caps in both units, cleaned and lubricated the transmitter fan, and cleaned the wiper contacts on the VFO capacitor in each unit.  I also did a by the book alignment.  The only problem I found was the CW mechanical filter suddenly turned into an attenuator; it was from the foam inside the filter deteriorating and was fixed by removal/cleaning of the foam residue.  I haven't had any problems with the other filters but I have a feeling they are similarly constructed and subject to the same problem.

It sounds OK on AM but you must adhere to the stated power.  I don't know if the final cooling fan is standard or optional but the finals definitely need air cooling.

Overall, these are a sharp looking station with lots of shiny chrome.  The 6 and 2 meter converters are too noisy for serious work but they do work.
