Anyone running an Omni 7 on AM ?  Looking at new rigs, and wondered how the Omni 7 would fare on AM.

I ran an OMNI VII for over a year on AM with very good reports.  It is a nice
radio all the way around.  When I fully retire and have more time for radio, the
O7 will be my first radio purchase.

Before that, I had a Jupiter which did well on AM.  There were some RF prob-
lems that were some my fault and some the rig(mic input by-passing).

Also, get the 708 desk mic for the O7.

                                         hope this helps, Ed  WA4NJY

Thanks for the help ED. The Omni 7 sounds like the way to go for me. Am looking at pairing it up with a Alpha 8410 running a 300 watt carrier.

I don't know about Alphas vy much but if I were going to spend $5k on a store bought amp I'd spend another $2000 and get this:

for AM.
