Shelby is one of those legendary 'fests that many of us have heard about for years, a lot like Hosstraders was to the Northeast. There's a
strong boatanchor presence there with heavyweights like Nick K4NYW, John K5MO, Al W8UT, JP K4OZY and many more. Mixed in is the milsurplus contingent with folks like Marty AA4RM, Meir WF2U and others. They already have an area of 15+ spaces which will no doubt be crammed with great tube gear.
A group of mid-Atlantic and northeast AMers will be gathering at KAQ
studios (I use that term loosely) on Thursday for a cookout and some radio fun, then heading down Friday to scope out the event. It's the first time for all of us, really looking forward to it. We might even bring some jun....er....stuff to sell.

Look for us Thursday on 40m daytime (including at least one AM mobile station), possibly 80 if we get ambitious enough to shoot the aerial up through the trees.
I've been told the event starts mid-week for folks with motor homes, so some might already be there or enroute. Anyone else on here planning to attend? No ideas what, if anything is already planned for dinner, but hopefully we can all catch up at some point.
See you there.
