HBR=11, 14, 15, 16 receivers

Both QST and AWA's journal this month have articles on homebrew receivers.  Apparently a series developed during the late 50's and 60's.  Double conversion, plug in coils and rivaled the better commercial rigs of the day. The first was built by W6TC and updated through the years through 1969.

Might be worth looking for one and great for single band use without too much sweat.

The IF cans out of various command sets also contributed to HBR's giving you a solid foundation for a sharp selectivity AM receiver or a single signal CW receiver, just by pulling out the IF coupling rods.

A junker 80M set BC454 IF: 1415kHz or 40M BC455 IF: 2.830MHz could provide the first If and a Q-5r BC453 IF: 85kHz would get you the second IF cans and BFO coil.
