Title: HBR=11, 14, 15, 16 receivers Post by: W3RSW on January 16, 2009, 04:14:56 PM Both QST and AWA's journal this month have articles on homebrew receivers. Apparently a series developed during the late 50's and 60's. Double conversion, plug in coils and rivaled the better commercial rigs of the day. The first was built by W6TC and updated through the years through 1969.
Might be worth looking for one and great for single band use without too much sweat. According to the AWA a schematic orginally supplied by J.W. Miller Co. is available on their website; www.antiquewireless.org (http://www.antiquewireless.org) Click on 'special downloads.' A junker 80M set BC454 IF: 1415kHz or 40M BC455 IF: 2.830MHz could provide the first If and a Q-5r BC453 IF: 85kHz would get you the second IF cans and BFO coil. Here is a good IF reference: http://www.agder.net/la8ak/e13.htm Mike WU2D Title: Re: HBR=11, 14, 15, 16 receivers Post by: KC9KEP on February 06, 2009, 07:57:00 PM I have an HBR16 (I think) that I may never get to if someone is interested.
