Replacing small tubes.

My hands are just too big to install tubes in the V2-CDC audio section.
I foung 1/8 inch rubber vacuum hose fits tightly ofer the glass tip of a 7 pin minature. This allows me to guide it into place then I can push it in. Nice to have a handle on the ones hidden deep inside.

I use a spark plug puller I bought at sears for a couple bucks. Looks like a pair of scissors with rubber padding on the end. Just the right size for digging those deep tubes out of the 390 and putting them back.

I have a tube puller that came with some piece of surplus gear years ago.  Designed for miniature tubes, made of steel wire, works like Chinese finger trap.  Very effective.  Have never seen another like it, so guard it with my life.

I was told that the best way is to grab yourself some pump pliers or a vice grip, with a rag, and put the rag on the tube, squeeze the handles really really hard and pull!

good for yanking them out but the hard part is getting it in.......just like everything else in life. (sept for marriage)
