Very interesting !!

Now, this also begs the question:  What are the trees in the antenna field doing to the efficiency of the antenna?  They MUST be absorbing some of the signal.  I have a LOT of trees in the very immediate vicinity of my antenna.  Hmmmmmmm.

When I used to work building antennas for MACom, the outdoor antenna range was lined with trees on both sides.  They were left there to absorbe RF, thereby preventing reflections effecting the measurements of antenna performance.

Only used that range for VHF units for aircraft. (possibly some HF stuff but I wasn't privvy to that).
