It's just a name. 99% of the conversation has nothing to do with what's for dinner. But dinner is mentioned since that's where everyone is headed when they sign out. Jump in, the water is fine.
Nail, head, *whack*
We had some truly great conditions and topics over the weekend. Saturday night we dicussed transmitters, available phone specturm, women in the radio room and a variety of topics. We did talk about food, too. Sunday saw more of the the same as well as mention of the Philadelphia Experiment (shades of the old FutureNet), gravity propuslion, rail guns, Flight 800, and more food. We even discussed how the Whats For Dinner net really isn't a net. It's not even a roundtable. More of a laid back, ongoing conversation. Just the mention of the word 'net' can make me twitch, thinking of those 'no traffic, fer the numbers' groups.
Participants including W2INR, W3DUQ, W3JN, WB3HUZ, W3GL, KD3CN, and another half dozen or more I'm forgetting (my photographiic memory needs film). 'GFZ was in too, but the band was just long enough that I wasn't hearing him. The group is very good about wrapping things up and moving down the band by 1800 so that a longstanding Canadian net *twitch* can have the frequency.
BTW guys, the marlin steak came out great. Served with rice pilaf, mixed veggies, and a bottle of riesling. Which is why I was late returning....
