Are FETs supposed to glow like that?

I have thought that the 10 m AM calling freq  was 29.200   .. but I have seen, and heard some folks say 29.000 ?

Not that it matters THAT much, but if I was going to just leave a rec on to monitor just ONE freq. ...
Which one of those two would be the best choice?
Where do most of you try first?

and what about 15 meters?   21.425?

Of course, all I have for yAy-eM on those bands is the PW&crappy  kenwoody 450s. Roll Eyes

As we get into the winter months, you might listen for the 10 Meter CCA AM net  Sunday on 29.050 at 12 Noon central (1800Z).

I don't have the 450 operating manual in front of me so I don't know the receiver characteristics from memory, but I would open it up to the widest bandwidth that it has and set the receiver dial above 29.0 (maybe 29.01). Or, you could get a drifty Swan rig and set the dial anywhere between 29.0 and 29.2 and, in time, all signals will come drifting by.
