My FT102 has been giving me some grief lately and I think I now know why.  The shaft couplings on the bandswitch have come loose.  So loose that one of the set screws had fallen out and has caused misalignment of the switch wafers in the final.  I need to know how to line up the switch wafers.  My manual doesn't describe this.  I know some of you guys have 102's and was wondering if anyone has experience with this. I looked for any dimpels made by the set screws on the ends of the shafts but it's pretty cramped in there and I can't see a damn thing.

Looks like I have bigger problems than the wafer alignment.  The shaft couplers are toast.  A lot of slop in them and the set screws are stripped.

I take it mechanical parts from Yaesu are no longer available for this?

The service/parts department at Yaesu is 714-827-7600. Dunno if they still have any parts for the 102.

Might want to also ask on the Yaesu Yahoo group.

Or over on the Fox Tango group.

Solved the problem with epoxy.  It ain't pretty but it works for now.  Got another solution in the works if this doesn't work..
