304-TH - Workin' it

« on: October 10, 2006, 10:20:08 PM »

From the Ripleys Radio Believe-it-or-Not files:

While delving into FCC files, I noticed the owner of WTTS-FM Bloomington-Indianapolis is the
(formerly) famous Sarkes-Tarzian Company of Indianapolis.

How'd that happen?

They also owned WTTV-TV in Indy and WPTA-TV here in Ft Wayne.  I'm not sure who owns those stations now.  They also were instrumental in getting FM stations up and running in this part of the universe.  They owned several in the 60's-70's time frame.  They established a market for their FM radios that they were selling then.
