I managed to get the 40M dipole back up after the trees got out of synch during
the remnants of hurricane Ernesto a few weeks ago.

One of the more strapping QSOs was WA1HLR around 3:30PM (1930 GMT).

Here, at 8Kc selectivity on the R390A (diode load) you can hear good signal
despite significant local line noise.

He speculates on the same question I had -- where has all the 40M activity gone?

There used to be a bunch of fellows in western Penna., Ohio and New York.

And a sample of Dave W9AD near Chicago.

He was so strong that at one point you can hear me open up the R390A all the way.

This is Dave's Flex Radio, the SDR1000

He mentions having sent me an MP3 as he was receiving my station.

That's the second one, below.

I had to take down Studio K again for another showing of the house Saturday, and left it down because the inspector was coming this morning to look the place over. I did listen last weekend though, zero activity heard here. Now that I know how to properly load the beast, it will probably work FB on 40 without the occasional *ZORCH* taking me offline.
