Hi Gang
I wanted to report to this forum that the Ham radio guy in Jericho is trying to decipher CW with a Yaesu FT 101F. He flips a lot of switches on some strange boxes but doesn't send any info.

I was waiting to see that. Every damn time there's any CW in a movie, everybody watching with me starts with the "What are they saying, what are they saying?"

They're saying "Shut your foghorn and watch the movie please!!"

Well, at least plate modulated thermionic emmission was represented by Gonset Comminicator II! I have several of the Gooney Box III's. N8JXT and I QSO regular late night over a 30 mile range on simplex freqs and it drives the local 2M FM guys nuts listening to us. Since we use AM terminology they think we are pretty weird dudes. Most of these FM'ers have never been exposed to HF.

I can't remember the name of the movie....

But it was one of these "high-tec" chase movies....

Maybe it was "Enemy of the State"......

Anyhow they were using this darn sattelite for ttracking and surveilance etc...

Every time they used it , and went to a Sat. shot. (so you'd know they were using it I guess).

The stupid satellite was sending Morse Code......

What was it sending each, and every time???

CQ   CQ   CQ  CQ

At least in the old Tom and Jerry cartoons they actually sent relevant information....
( the one with the robot cat comes to mind)

I just realized at the beggining of the last Jericho episode that there is something sent in CW ....
Didn't get what it said.... I wasn't quick enough to see if it made any sense......
