Greetings All!

Anybody have any info on the subject power xfrmr, UTC model T-103?
KVA would be helpful (or DC current handling capability).

Ken,
       If all else fails, fire 120vac into the primary, measure the secondary voltage outpoot, and use the formulas in any old handbook to figger out what the voltage outpoot of the power supply will be. (it will vary depending on what rectifier / filter arrangement you decide to use.)

Then use the T.I.T. (Timtron Institute of Technology) formula to figger out its power handling capability. (10 watts of available outpoot per pound of transfoma weight) With this figger determined, now divide by the calculated outpoot voltage to get the available outpoot current.  If you figger the capacity of the iron at 10w per pound of actual weight (which is quite conservative) you should not have any problems running at that level.

Also look at the core area. There is a table in almost every handbook that shows the core rating in VA and you can use it for bigger cores by extending the graph. I think 3 square inches is 500 VA The T.I.T. transformer constant will have to be adjusted if the iron has end bells or potted.
