From the ARRL Web Site:
NEWINGTON, CT, Jun 14, 2006--The ARRL appears to have struck a chord in 2005 when it initiated "Take Your Handheld to Work Day." Radio amateurs who participated last year report they were able to introduce many new people to Amateur Radio.

The heck wid the radio. Wow, is that wasp-waist real or is she wearing one of those 60's girdles?  Wink

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

There's no way I could decide which one to wear.

I don't think walking around with an HT (or HT's) on your belt, or one stuck in your ear, is exactly the best choice of PR for amateur radio.

And at my place of employment, (notice I didn't say my 'workplace Wink), an HT would be required to have a Factory Mutual <FM> logo on it to be used anywhere inside the fence. Non-intrinsically safe radios and 'Ethylmethylbadcrap' fumes don't play well together.

Why. Tons of people do it every day. Except it's a cell phone clipped on there belt or stuck to their ear. If a ham had an HT, no one would notice.
