After the success of the previous years "Summer of Code" Google has decided to sponsor "Summer of Code 2006". This is a great opportunity for students interested in programming and designing to get an opportunity to get their feet wet and make a positive contribution to the field. To be eligible for the "Summer of Code 2006" you need to be enrilled at an acredited school. You don;t have to be a computer wscience major to be eligible. This can be a great opportunity for anyone who may have a son or daughter who is interested in CS to get a change to gain some experience, make a contribution, and have something to add to a resume. Unfortunately most old farts like me who have been out of school for a while are not eligible to participate. However, you may be eligible to enroll as a mentoring organization...
