QSL Cards Return After 69 Years

In 1937 my father, a 17 year-old SWL living in northern Ohio, sent a SWL card to Frank Baker W8QJR of McComb, Ohio.  (Not knowing the man’s address, my father merely addressed the card to “Amateur radio station W8QJR, McComb, Ohio, and it was received o.k.)  Four years later in 1941, my father, now having his amateur license, worked Frank and sent his W8VVS QSL card.

In the mail this week, my father received a letter from Tony W2VRK, a collector of antique QSL cards.  Tony is acquiring and archiving pre-war QSL cards from the state of New Jersey.  He apparently obtained the QSL cards of Frank Baker’s estate.

Tony was thoughtful and kind enough to research and mail those 2 cards to my father’s Pennsylvania QTH this week; QSL? – QSL.  Thanks, Tony!
