This came over from the Broadcast Net. There was a comment there by Bob Orban that Behringer has also been found ripping off cicuit designs for audio processors and other accessories down to the circuit board layout. I think they also got in trouble for copying some Macke audio console designs a while back.

FCC PROPOSES FORFEITURE AGAINST BEHRINGER USA, INC.
FOR MARKETING UNAUTHORIZED EQUIPMENT

Washington, D.C. -- The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) today
proposed a $1 million forfeiture against Behringer USA, Inc. for apparent
violation of the FCC’s equipment authorization rules.

The Commission concluded that Behringer apparently violated the FCC’s rules
by marketing in the United States at least 50 models of unauthorized digital
audio devices. The rules require that these devices be tested and verified
compliant with FCC technical standards prior to marketing them in the United
States.

Ya Pete - I missed that. Tnx for showing me the thread. I hear lots of things about Behringer being great stuff for very low prices, and also things saying its utter junk. I figure its somewhere in between, but they didn't need to cheat Uncle Charlie. Thats a no no. Also the alleged circuit stealing.
