I want to thank all for the comments submitted to AMfone for filing on 11306.

We had over 200 comments to file and all were filed over the weekend. Check your email if you sent in comments. You should have the FCC receipt in your email. The receipts were sent to the email address that the comments came in from.

If you have not filed as of yet please do so. The FCC site is easy to use or you may send your comments to

stoprm11306@amfone.net

This email service will end at 8:00pm EST this evening. If you need to file after that you will have to file at the FCC site.

The FCC links are listed in the QSO section towards the top of the posts.

Thanks  again to all that took the time to voice their opinions, no matter what the outcome participation is an important part of the process.

When I began my search this morning for the daily tally using 2/3/06 to 2/6/06 as parameters, nearly 300 submissions appeared!    Taking away the submissions dated 2/3/06 that I added to the count over the weekend, I think still have over 250 to comments to count so I'd better get busy.

Before I go, I want to say hats off to Gary for providing a place for discussion and debate.

Thank you everyone who took the time to file comments.

And last but not least, thank you to those here and elsewhere who are making sure a spotlight stays on the issues surrounding RM-11306.

At the moment, 800 Comments overall.
Participation in this Rule Making proceeding will be above average by the time the books close.
There are some very compelling arguments presented  in the database why RM-11306 should fail.

This is a thread about how over 20% of the users here on AMfone  filed comments.

There has been enough political shots taken for over a month now with many caught in the crossfire.

Please take it elsewhere.

No shots from here, Gary.  Just Thanks for doing a great job!  Most of us appreciate your hard work and dedication immensely; just a very few of us don't.

Not sure how you took my post to be "political" Gary;

Simply doing the math 1000 / 600,000 is a pretty dismal number; no politics intended; just an observation.

No offense intended.

Hey Mark, I thought he was talking about my post but you can have the baton. I "like" your comments on 11306; I guess we were sort of looking over each other's shoulder.

Anyway, it's been a long and tiring road for many of us regardless of what thoughts we have in regards to the FCC proposals. We all want the Amateur Radio Service to survive and continue to have AM as a major player as we move further into the 21st century. Gary, Paul, and others have spent probably a major portion of their personal time beating the bushes for folks to submit comments directly or through them. If nothing else, it shows the dedication many of us have for amateur radio and the things we love dear. My hat, if I had one on, would go off for them.

Paul's "DIY" instructions (on another post) were very helpful.

With the numbers showing on the tally Paul ORC has been doing for us it looks like the AM community offered more than a third of the comments!

Reading Herb's post, I'm not sure he took a shot a me or not.  Being that email is a really lousy way to determine the intent of a written statement, I'll assume he didn't.

I know that I was not referring to you Mark.

As of this morning, showing about 900 comments filed by the overnight deadline for RM-11306.

http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/websql/prod/ecfs/comsrch_v2.hts

A lot of familiar names in there.

RM-11305 drew about 300 comments.

We now enter a 15 day Reply Comment interval, where people have an opportunity to directly challenge points already made during the Comment period. Ordinarily there are no new arguments in this part of the proceeding, just a response to those that have been filed. However, early Reply Comments can in turn be refuted until the deadline.

I know of at least one rebuttal that will be on the way against allegations from W8JI.

Pete - I think one of the most important issues in this case was to voice your opinion, regardless of which way you see things. It's a free country! To have people just sit back on their butts and let things go bye would be a waste.

It looks like the FCC accepted a few comments that trickled in late.  For RM-11305, two are dated the 7th and one is dated the 10th.  For RM-11306, in addition to two Replies to Comments, there are nine comments dated the 7th, one dated the 8th, two dated the 9th and one dated the 10th.
