ARRL reports that Randal McCloy is a Ham.

==>SOLE SURVIVING WEST VIRGINIA MINER KC8VKZ STILL CRITICAL

The only survivor of the January 3 mine explosion in Tallmansville, West

The Clown from Johnstown posted it on the AM reflector. He made it look like he wrote it up. He neglected to acknowledge the author, Randy Padawer, K7RAN. What a major a**hole.

I quit the Collins list because I got tired of him promoting himself now he is doing it on the AM reflector.  Undecided

Randal left Pittsburgh and is back home. The morning paper said that the treatments did him some good and is progressing a bit though it will be a long road ahead.

I have a card addressed for Randal.

I will send one out to Randy tomorrow.  Apparently his progress is slow, but encouraging.  I hope everybody sends him a QSL card, even those who don't send out hard-copy QSLs T, Chuckles. Wink

Re: The Johnstown Collins person --  I have been around and around with him, and have said all I have to say about him and to him.  Any more would be a violation of my mother's mandate that if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all. Lips sealed

In the time since we first learned he is a ham, I've seen his QRZ.com listing go from a couple dozen hits to over 20,000.

Me too, Paul.  It's now 23,024!  Hope all these guys are sending out QSL cards.  I'm sure it will mean a lot to Randy, when he comes around, as well as to his family.

There is a post about him on the QTH.COM site under "announcements" That site usually produces a lot of action.
