Welp, it looks like the driver transformer in the DX-100 crapped out. I checked my parts rig and it has a nice little void where the transformer was. What I would like to know is I have a Thordarson 20A18 interstage transformer designed for a single end driving push pull grids. Pri is 10Kohms/Sec 90Kohms with a 1:3 ratio. Would this transformer work in lieu of the OEM that bit the dust? The only thing I can garner about it is that it is a 2:1 Pri-1/2Sec and that is what comes off of the schematic. No other data such as its impedances are available. Many thanks for any help.

I was under the impression that the DX-100 drove the 1625's into grid current. If this is the case, what you really need is a driver transformer(step down), rather than an interstage(step up) transformer.

Thanks, Mark. I forget that Peter Dahl's listing can be used as a resource too. I just found a Merit A-2921 that has a 1.7:1 Pri-1/2 Sec. It is listed as a driver transformer without any impedances. I wonder if this will be close enough without much degradation in the audio.

Assuming that the primary current rating is adequate, it should be okay.

The primary is listed at 35mA. That should give me some headroom. TNX
