Received a dusting with the rain last nite......some higher areas around here (South Glens Falls, NY) got 4 to 8 inches. I think summer is kaput.

The rain in Maine falls mainly on the plane.
No snow, actually a warm day today, in the lower 50s outside.
Just got back from the evening walk, skies clear, temps about 40, can see the stars -yea!
I love fall.

Columbus day weekend in Old Forge NY was a bit of a letdown for me. temps in the 50's and no snow. i missed my chance to fall on my ass and slide down the mounatin in the snow! it snows on that weekend most every year. it has been said (and it's true) that the average newcomer to the Adirondacks lasts "one year or one winter, which ever comes first". cheer up residents of the North Country- would you rather be in the South Bronx, with no snow?
