Does anyone know if Chuck Rippel has a PM on this forum?
I have searched almost everywhere and all I get is returned mail from other sites that carried his R390A repairs and tips.

I am looking for some coils to replace one or more coils that are crapped in the RF deck of my R-390A. Dunno what happened to the beast.
Thanks
Fred

Hey Fred, before you replace the coils, take them apart and replace the parallel capacitors. I had a few caps go bad in mine (intermittantly)... Mine were the mica type, and most were bad... Replaced them with ceramic disc's and no problem since then...

Hi Lee.

Mine turns one year old today.  Congratulations to you.  See you on the radio.
