Bob,
Good score. I would like to see a schematic of the AM sync detector in that unit.  fc

Frank,

Ok if I get manual for radio.  Deal goes down after 4th of July.  Driving SP600 and HT32 to Philly, and Racal RA17L to Rochester.  Had to sell em all to pay for Drake, and still shy a hundred or so.

No Schematic with radio.  Sync detector works fb tho.  Encoder for tuning will probably have to be replaced - especially if i can't get computer to play nice with R8.  Seems the smps is a tad noisy in computer and drake is sensitive to noise.

Would like to try out some aftermarket software to control Drake.

Hey Bill,

Radio is nice, but pc does interfere pretty bad.  It's not the smps, but the processor.  All quiet when fan comes up, but when micro wakes up it's noise.  Too bad cause it would have been nice to control Drake with pc.  Maybe some sheilding or emi filter still might go long way to reduce noise.

BOB,
See if it is conducted EMI or radiated. Does the noise go down if you disconnect the interface cable.  fc
